While you are there download a manual and see what a wonderful instrument this is.I went over to the T-60 site and copied the serial number dating list that they have to hopefully help everyone here with their T-40 dates.Since the T-60 guitars were manufactured at the same time as the basses, the serial numbers are similar and were not separated between guitar and bass, just as they were produced. 8Mxxxxxx 1978 0000xxxx - 0030xxxx 1978 0031xxxx - 0047xxxx 1979 0048xxxx - 0065xxxx 1980 0066xxxx - 0099xxxx 1981 0100xxxx - 0129xxxx 1982 0130xxxx - 0169xxxx 1983 0170xxxx - 0199xxxx 1984 0200xxxx - 0239xxxx 1985 0240xxxx - 0259xxxx 1986 0260xxxx - 0339xxxx 1987It must be noted that there are some rare 6 digit serial numbers that are out there that do date to 1978, however there is no way to know if they pre-date the 8M, 00 or are mixed in there as well.

So, don't take the list here as gospel._________________Tony ITOC #05-000134 T-60s, T-63, T-15, Generation Standard, Hydra, Mantis LT, Milestone, Mystic, Odyssey, Patriot, Patriot tremolo, Predator, Raptor, Razer, Reactor, 3 Rockmasters, Tracer, Backstage, Bandit, VSS 20, Vypyr 30, Vypyr VIP-1.Gloss Black, Gloss Ivory, Vintage Gold, Seafoam Green, Transparent Sunburst, Transparent Amber, Transparent Red, Transparent Purple, Transparent Green, Transparent Blue, Transparent Cherryburst, Transparent Black Cherryburst (plus numerous other colors and graphics offered via the Peavey Custom Shop) The Peavey EVH Wolfgang guitar series is the result of the collaboration between guitarist Edward Van Halen and Hartley Peavey's company, Peavey Electronics.Peavey included the following endorsement in their advertising: "For as long as I've been playing guitar, I've always been searching for a certain feel and tone...I pulled my old Peavey T-60 out of the basement..never played it much. is 00420080 Related News Peavey Classic 30/112 Guitar Amp Just purchased a T-60 from a fella and the serial number is: 00291372, it also has a name burned into the front of the guitar above the fretboard which is: Chip Dale.I'm wondering when it was made.it is pre or post 1980?? Does anyone know anything about this guitar and why the name is burned into the front of it.Late in the Wolfgang run their serial numbers began with "50" and "51." The only date Peavey logs from your serial number is the ship date; the "born on" date comes with the checklist that originally came with the guitar.(Which is why it drives me crazy when owners lose the checklist.) Thanks all.I've experimented by tearing apart and reassembling hundreds of guitars in different ways searching for these qualities.Although I've ruined a lot of great guitars by having done this, I have learned what it takes to make a truly great guitar.I'm trying to figure out a manufactured date on a PV Wolf Special US I got used a couple years ago. I've heard there's really no rhyme or reason to Peavey's serial numbers (for dating anyway). I'm trying to figure out a manufactured date on a PV Wolf Special US I got used a couple years ago. I think the only way you could get the info you are looking for is if you have the check list that came with the guitar or if Peavey gets there crap in order. The Peavey forums say that they are currently unable to decode serial numbers on older stuff. If the serial number started with a 9 (most American Wolfgangs had these serial numbers) you might of been able to estimate when it was made.
